Consumer research showed that Sling TV customers who signed up to watch NBA also had high viewership of adult animation (think Rick & Morty, South Park, etc.). So when the NBA season was ending, it was important to remind these viewers there was still plenty for them to watch on Sling (in hopes of preventing turnover). I worked closely with our animation team on a fun sizzle reel highlighting some of the top adult animated shows, and we followed up with an email reminder to boot.
Results
This strategy increased forecasted retention after the NBA season.
While the sizzle ran in cross channel spots toward the end of the NBA season, we drove the message home through email.
